ABOUT APEN

APEN is a nonprofit organization that represents the interest of private schools in Nigeria.

Our member schools vary greatly – some are large with over 2000 students, while others have less than 100 students in the entire school. They may be non-profit or proprietary, religiously affiliated, or not. Curricula also vary, with the Nigerian Curriculum being the most prevalent while others offer the British, American or some combination of the three. Whatever the size or affiliation, we provide a platform for the promoters of schools to connect, learn from each other which ultimately positively impacts the member schools.

APEN was founded in 2002. APEN is run by a Board of Trustees from schools around Nigeria who are owners of their respective schools. The board includes experts in education who have the sole motivation to unite schools under the APEN umbrella. Together, they seek to improve the educational system in our nation.
